The Horsley U3A Birdwatching & Natural History Group meets once a month except August at 9.30 on a Tuesday, usually the second or third Tuesday.

These field meetings are mostly at sites within a 20-minute drive of Horsley, such as Ockham Common, Guildford Riverside Park or Papercourt Gravel Pits.

Though birds are the focus of the group all aspects of natural history are covered and members of the Wildflower & Natural History group are very welcome to join us.  We usually have one joint meeting a year.

Our walks last between 2.5 and 3 hours, finishing by 12.30 latest.  Wear good walking footwear, suitable outdoor clothing and bring binoculars if you have them.  If the weather is expected to be bad, please check with Brian Austin before you set off.

Members are encouraged to use websites giving information on birds and birdwatching and to take part in national surveys such as the Big Garden Birdwatch organised by the RSPB and the BTO's Garden Birdwatch.
