Wildflowers & Natural History Group

There are two Natural History Groups which take an interest in all aspects of our varied wildlife. The Bird Watching Group tends to focus on birds and choose its walks accordingly while the Wildflower Group focuses on plants. Both groups take a wider interest in the wildlife around them and birdwatchers are welcome on wildflower walks and vice versa - so that we can all learn from each other.

Wildflowers & Natural History Group Walks 2012

The walks are led by Harry Eve (a local resident and U3A member with a wide-ranging interest in Natural History).  It is likely that Ray Tantram, another wildflower enthusiast and an expert in Fungi, will assist Harry when they can.

We meet at 10.00am on the dates shown below. There is no need to indicate if you will be coming, just turn up at the appointed time.

Suggested (but entirely optional) equipment : drink, wildflower guide book, hand lens, digital camera, notebook, binoculars (close-focusing if you have them), footwear suitable for ground conditions on the day and able to cope with rough sloping ground that could be slippery if it has been wet, sunhat, sun cream etc. The distance to be walked will take account of the wishes of those who attend.
