Concert Outings

Fiona Martland has stepped down for orgainising concert tours. Her work is greatly appreciated. Bill King has kindly offered to take on the organisation of future concerts.

The following concerts are planned for autumn 2018:

Tuesday 20th November

The New Victoria Theatre

La Traviata.

The Glyndebourne Tour is the touring company established to take the work of the Glyndebourne Festival to a wider audience throughout the country and at the same time give performing opportunities to young and promising singers. As a result it has been successful in nurturing great artists at the beginning of their careers. Last year we saw Cosi fan Tutte at the Tour in Glyndebourne.

This opera is first being performed at Glyndebourne in October and then tours various centres, including Woking, in November.

There has been a fair amount of interest in seeing this performance and I have reserved thirty seats on that basis, The seats are in the Royal Circle and including transport the tickets will cost £75 a head. I would be grateful if I could have confirmation that you wish a ticket for this performance, including those of you who have already expressed an interest from the previous notice.

Handel's Messiah by candlelight with the English Chamber Choir at St Martin in the Fields on 29 November

This concert is now fully booked. If you wish to go on the waiting list for any cancellations please contact Bill King by e-mail.

Tickets have been booked to ensure good seats and the cost for a top price ticket and coach travel to and from Horsley will be kept the same as last year at £42 a head.

Also, as before, we will leave Horsley at 4pm and should arrive in London in time for a stroll, a drink and a bite to eat before the performance starts at 7.30pm.  The performance finishes at 9.30 pm so we should be back in Horsley no later than 11pm.

If any event is oversubscribed, tickets will be allocated by a random ballot (rather than first come first served allocation).

Contact Bill King  Tel: 07476922980  email: to express an interest in any of these, or look out for notices issued by e-mail and posted on notice boards for more information
