Bowling against Pipbrooke

The above photograph was taken last season during our second annual match against the Pippbrooke Bowling Club U3A Bowling group, which everyone enjoyed, especially the tea and cakes!

The President and members of East Horsley Bowling Club welcome U3A members who are interested in learning to play bowls on Monday afternoons at the Clubhouse in St. Martin's Court from 2.30  -  4 p.m.    Please arrive by 2.15 and you just need flat shoes. £5 per session. Please note that the Clubhouse will not be available on the Bank Holiday Monday on 27th May and the following Monday, 3rd June, but every Monday afternoon afterwards.    Members will be there to help you and once in the season we organise a competition with U3A members of another Club.

A very enjoyable day was spent on Monday, the 23rd September when the U3A Bowls Groups of Dorking and East Horsley played a match at the East Horsley Bowling Club. There was some very good play and the scoring was very even. The result ended in a win for Dorking by two points making that 2-1 to Dorking in the annual match results.

The weather was warm and when the sun came out at 4 o'clock it was just like mid-summer. Tea followed in the Clubhouse and everyone felt sorry they had played their last game for this season and agreed they had had a lot of fun. Thanks go to Mary Coburn and Mary Houghton of East Horsley and David Petman of Dorking for organising the day.
