Horsley U3A Online Talks: June 24th and July 8th

As we are currently unable to hold our monthly meetings with an invited speaker, we have instead arranged a couple of online talks for Horsley U3A members which you can watch free of charge at home on your PC, iPad, or smartphone. The talks are provided by the social enterprise Mirthy who also provide material for the Third Age Trust, the NHS Retirement Fellowship, and the retirement housing provider McCarthy & Stone. Instructions on how to take part are given below.

Wednesday July 8th at 10am: “A Policeman’s Lot” by Neil Sadler

Neil Sadler spent 30 years as a police officer, working in exotic places like Abu Dhabi and Trinidad…not to mention Crawley and Haywards Heath! He started in the heady 1970s in the renowned holiday resort of Bognor Regis. You will be amazed to hear who he met on his first night shift at 3am. Also: where not to try and escape the traffic cops in one particular country; and, finally, a novel use for a policeman’s helmet. Talk length: 29 minutes.

To register for either (or both) of these, please go to and click on the ‘Register’ buttons.  You will be asked to enter your name and email address, so that the talks provider Mirthy can send you a booking confirmation email with a link for you to click on when the talk is due to take place.  You will also receive an email reminder 15 minutes before each talk starts.

Depending on takeup and the lockdown continuing, we may commission further online talks from Mirthy in future.
